Don’t market your business before you read this.

Before recommending ads, content or a new website, I research the market, examine the business offerings and identify what is really stopping the business from growing.

Read this before you advertise

Advertising cannot fix what the business has not figured out.

Before deciding on platforms, content or media budgets, I examine five commercial questions. They determine whether advertising will create growth or simply send more people into a broken journey.

01

Is there proven demand?

What are customers already searching for, discussing and buying? Market demand should shape the campaign—not internal assumptions.

02

Is this the right entry offer?

The easiest service to discount is not necessarily the offer that attracts valuable customers or leads naturally to a second purchase.

03

Why should customers choose you?

If the message sounds identical to every competitor, additional reach will not create a meaningful reason to buy.

04

What happens after the click?

The advertisement, landing page, enquiry response, booking process and follow-up must work as one connected customer journey.

05

How will success be measured?

Cheap leads and first purchases do not reveal customer quality. Track attendance, second purchases, repeat behaviour and customer value.

Don’t advertise the easiest thing to sell. Advertise the offer that begins the most valuable customer journey.

How we can work together

Buy clarity before buying more execution.

Strategy should tell you what to prioritise, what to stop doing and where your next investment should go.

What experience changes

I don’t look at marketing as a collection of channels. I look at what the business is trying to achieve—and determine what marketing must do to support it.
